Golf rules changed for 2020 by USGA and COVID19 at PCC

The USGA had a number of rule changes that became in effect at the beginning of this year. Most of the rules were to simplify and improve the pace of play.
Golf rounds at Pawtucket were always fast. Sub 3 hour rounds were not unusual. Anything more than 3 and 1/2 hours was considered unacceptable. Unfortunately, the PGA has allowed the pace of play to approach 5 hours. When golfers first played in Scotland, they walked at a good pace and there was not nearly the amount of time spent on the greens.
I enjoy walking although my legs have difficulty. For the time being, leaving flags in the hole and having cups raised has been an interesting change. These 2 changes have definitely decreased the time spent putting.
