A caddie and his Caddy

At age 14, Byron Nelson beat Ben Hogan by one stroke in the caddie championship at Glen Garden CC in Fort Worth, Texas.
So, in an effort to honor caddies, the Nelson put together a program of awarding a Caddy to the winning caddie of the HP Byron Nelson Championship. In 2008, Tony Navarro, who was on the bag for winner Adam Scott, won a Cadillac XLR-V.
The winning caddie this year will receive a 2011 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid.
The best I ever did was $100 for 2 days carrying for Norm Lutz at Alpine CC in 1975 when he won the RI Open.  Norm beat Dana Quigley in a two hole sudden death playoff. It was a proud day for Pawtucket Country Club. Norman invited me to join him at the club house for the great celebration.
